Trying to Stay Cool!

Oh, it was a hot one today!  We did our best to stay calm and quiet while we were in the classroom, in the interest of staying as cool as we could.  It looks like the rest of the week will be hot and sunny, please make sure that your child is dressed for warm weather.  Each child should also have a water bottle (with his/her name on it please) at school.  A sun hat of some kind would also be a great idea.  Also, please put sunscreen on your children before school if possible.

Something magical happened over the weekend!  Our caterpillars turned into chrysalises!  We are going to be watching this stage carefully for any signs of change.  We'll keep you posted!

Today, we worked on a butterfly booklet and practiced reading "this butterfly is" and our colour words.  We had to read each page to figure out which colour to use when colouring.  The kids did a great job!

After our work was done, some of us went outside to the shade to create some chalk masterpieces!

In the afternoon, we went outside to play with the kids from the other Kindergarten class and the Kindergarten/Grade 1 combined class.  It's fun to play with new friends, and who knows….we just might be in the same class with some of them in grade 1!
