Fancy Friday! and Exploring Symmetry

Happy Friday everyone!  It's hard to believe that next Friday will mark our last day of Kindergarten (I'm not even going to think about it!)  Today, according to one of our classmates, was Fancy Friday.  Sometimes you just have to dress up and enjoy the day.

Some great creations were made this morning.  Here is the front and back view of one creation.

Oh, this took some steady hands!

We worked on sorting numbers today.

And some of us practiced our number printing.

Others built an incredibly long pattern.

Then, after recess, we explored the concept of symmetry by drawing and painting butterflies.  We made sure that anything we did on one wing, we did on the opposite side.  This weekend, see how many examples you can find of symmetry.

The butterflies are almost finished.  They just need to be outlined and then we'll hang them for our last week of school.  I think we might even leave them up and they can welcome us back in September!

Please look in your child's home envelope tonight, there is something special for Dad inside.  Happy Father's Day to all you Dads…enjoy your time together this weekend!
