We started our day walking up to Sutherland School for an assembly. We walked with buddies from Mr. Kelly's class. It was so lovely listening in on the conversations the kids had together. And, as an added bonus, we arrived at Sutherland in record time! Those big kids sure know how to keep us moving! We went to Sutherland to hear from the artist who will be using us as "paint dots" when he creates a Sky Art image on Monday. We saw photos of some of his other projects. It's going to be pretty amazing. The kids will all be receiving t-shirts on Monday, to wear during the art installation. But, further to that, Mrs. Martin has asked all the kids to wear a black t-shirt (only if they have one. If they don't have a black t-shirt, don't worry.
Such a beautiful day for a walk!
Here we are in the Sutherland gym. We were the first school to arrive, this is everyone from Brooksbank. Sutherland and Queensbury also attended this assembly.
We were pretty exhausted when we got back to the school, so we watched a Magic School Bus video about butterflies and had some free play time.
After lunch, we all went into the gym with the rest of the primary students for our final Km Club Ribbon Ceremony. 16 students from our class received 40km ribbons, 14 received 50km ribbons, 8 received 60km ribbons and 2 received 75km ribbons!!!!! Such a great effort was given by all the kids, well done!
And, perhaps the biggest news of the day….3 butterflies emerged from their chrysalises!! Here are a few pictures. It's tricky to take pictures through mesh, hopefully you can see them! I imagine that the remaining 5 will emerge this weekend. We will plan to release them on Monday afternoon, if all goes as planned.
Have a great weekend. It's hard to believe that there is only 10 more days of school remaining. Thanks for returning the yellow mahon water park permission form and for returning all library books!
