So, I feel like I haven't had an original thought since I started looking around "Pinterest". Today was no exception….Below is the inspiration picture (taken from Pinterest) that we were going to try our hands a recreating. Keep reading to see how it all turned out….
This student made her own "Sky Art" today….I love it when kids are inspired by something else that we have done.
It's hard to see from this photo, but these guys lined up the blocks, end to end, all around the room!
Some great collaboration happened today!
Ok, so here's our attempt at that amazing bubble art. The plan was to add food coloring to bottles of bubbles and spread paper around outside and then move around blowing bubbles and letting them pop all over the papers. Well, the wind was blowing, so the papers went everywhere. Once we got the papers where they should be, the wind carried the bubbles away before they had the chance to land on the papers. Then about 5 of the bubbles bottles were spilled. We talked a lot about leaning forward so the bubble liquid didn't dribble on our clothes…that didn't always happen.
Once we adjusted our technique, we had a little more success. This was supposed to be a great time to work together to create some beautiful pieces. Instead, we were trying as hard as we could to get results on one piece of paper.
After a certain amount of time, we picked up all the papers and had some fun blowing bubbles in the wind and running and playing together.
It just goes to show that sometimes you can have the best plans and the best of intentions, and things don't always turn out as you think they will. I don't think the kids know that it didn't work out, they had a blast and that's all that really matters!
Reminder, we are going to Mahon Park on Thursday afternoon. I will be sending an email home with information about what to bring, what not to bring, and our time line while we are there.
There are still a couple of scrapbooks that have yet to be picked up. The next time you're in the school, please come in and pick it up.
