Yesterday and Today

On Tuesdays after school, I get together with some other staff members in the gym and we exercise together.  It's tricky to get to the blog before I have to get changed, so there will be many Tuesdays when the blog isn't updated.  So today, I'm sharing photos from yesterday and today.

We worked on our journals yesterday.  We are working on telling stories with our pictures and then orally.  We have been learning a lot about pumpkins this week and many kids chose to draw about pumpkins.  You may notice a lot of different shaped/coloured pumpkins.  This is because we just read a story called "Spookly the Square Pumpkin" and the story inspired many interesting journal entries.

This picture showed all of the things a pumpkin needs to grow.

This picture showed the life cycle of a pumpkin, something we've been learning about.

At centre time, this guy worked and worked and worked on his number printing.  Then he asked if I could put his photo on the blog....done!

And now, on to today.....
We've been having so much fun learning new signs that some kids chose to practice first thing this morning.  They were watching the animal video and a new one, "Old MacDonald Had a Farm".

Another group of kids chose to sort and count together.

working together to count BIG numbers!

Others were working on their math facts (!)

This group was so focused for such a long time.
