New Math Centres

Tomorrow is "Dd" sharing day.  Please help your child find a household item beginning with the letter D.

Also, I will not be with the kids in the morning tomorrow.  I am at another meeting.  I will be one of the presenters at the Kindergarten information meeting at Centennial Theatre later this month and we are planning our presentation.  I will be back in the afternoon.

Here's a look at this week's math centres.

Race to the apple tree.  Kids play with a partner and take turns rolling a die and moving their marker. First one to the apple tree wins.

Matching the correct number of school supplies to the correct number printed on the backpacks (numbers 4-10)

Tenzi.  All 4 kids play against one another.  Each player has 10 dice and everyone rolls his/her 10 dice at the same time.  Each player determines which number he/she has the most of and sets them aside and then continues to roll the remaining dice until they are all the same number.  Sounds confusing, it really isn't.  The first person to have all of his/her dice the same number shouts "tenzi" and wins.

He's rolling for 6s.

She's rolling for 2s.

Matching lunch items to Lunch Boxes.  Counting and matching numbers 1-9.
