Hoppy Easter

This group of kids worked together for such a long time creating this structure.  It has something to do with dynamite and they knew exactly what should go where.

it's always exciting to see familiar things used in a new way….such creativity

After recess, Mrs. Nykyforuk's grade 3s hid little chocolate Easter eggs all around the pink and red playgrounds for us to go and find.

We had so much fun searching for them.  Some were in really tricky places!

Here are some of our big buddies, we were so thankful to them for our fun Easter egg hunt!

a very happy bunny!

look at all of those eggs!

the whole group after our hunt.

when we came back in, we emptied our bags and made a huge pile of eggs on the carpet

can you guess how many we found?

we split the pile into two groups (we wanted them to be equal because we were going to share with Mrs. Nykyforuk's class and then separated them into groups of 10 and counted them all.  Half equalled 250 and the other half equalled 247…..not bad huh?  We decided to give the group of 247 to the grade 3s and we talked about how best to share 250 between 20 kids.

At first, each person got a group of 10 but we still had more left over

we made sure to recount our groups to make sure everyone had 10, then we all took one more and then one more again until there were 10 eggs left to be shared.  One student suggested that Miss C get 5 and I should get 5…he explained that even though it wasn't perfectly fair (because the adults only got 5 and the kids got 12)  it was a pretty good way to share the eggs.  I agreed.  (Oh we had two students absent today, if you're reading this, don't worry, we saved your eggs for you for when you come back).

One student showed his hockey medals to us.  He was so proud to tell us all about playing hockey.

And finally, in your child's home envelope, please look for these cute little guys!  We made chicks to add to your Easter decorations at home.  We think they're pretty "tweet" (see what I did there?)

Have a very happy Easter weekend.  We are excited to welcome a new classmate into our group on Tuesday.  Perhaps you can brainstorm ways to help our new student feel welcome with your child this weekend.

  1. Sometime it becomes very hard to find a well written and well established bog which give you correct and useful information. However, I found this blog and got some relevant information which are really helpful for me.zwangerschapsyoga amsterdam west
