Feelings and Yoga

Working together after a long weekend to create some amazing things…all while talking about the Easter Bunny!

We welcomed a new student to our class today!

Miss C reviewed our mood meter with us.  We looked at some pictures and added them to our chart.

We took turns adding the pictures and explaining why we thought they should go where we put them.

Then we moved our own magnets to show how we are feeling today.

Most of us were in the green and yellow sections (pleasant feelings, but different energy levels).

After recess, we went to the gym and had a quick assembly with all of the other primary classes.  We learned all about Kilometer Club and we are ready to start running tomorrow!

After our assembly, Miss C taught us some yoga poses.  We are learning some things that we can do if we are feeling "high energy" and want to feel calmer.

this is the "mouse" pose

this is the "lion" pose

Then we got into groups and made up our own poses for some emotions.  This group was creating a pose for "brave".

This group is "relaxed"

Another "relaxed" pose.

Working together to decide on a pose.

This group's pose was "feeling alert".

Then we came back together as a group and taught the rest of the class our group poses.  This is "relaxed".

  3. Millions of people yearn to visit serene places and connect with natural beauty. However, they seldom become aware that true peace is found within, by silencing the whirlwind of thoughts and living in the present moment. Along with meditation, yoga is one of the most effective tools to appease a disturbed mind. In fact, after a series of body postures, the mind is quieter and prepared for meditation.
