Using our Senses to Explore Popcorn! and Some New Signs

Morning building pictures before we headed outside for Kilometer Club.

Today, we moved through 5 stations to explore popcorn with our senses in mind.  One station was sight, another hearing, another touch, another sound and finally taste.  We were looking at popcorn kernels.  We moved from station to station recording our findings on a checklist and adding any words or pictures to help us describe.

Here's a look at our checklist:

Then, we watched, listened, smelled, touched  and (after much anticipation) tasted some popped popcorn.  We added our new information to a class chart and compared our discoveries.

This afternoon, Rhena came in and taught us some new signs about Spring.  We even learned to sign the words of a poem.  The poem is below…ask your child to teach you some of the signs and see if you can put them together to sign the poem.

Tomorrow is V sharing day, please help your child find something that begins with V around the house.

Thank you all so much for sending in the photos and family questionnaire.  Miss C and I have been enjoying looking through all of the baby photos.  We are going to see if the kids can guess who's who!
