Loutet Farm

I'm trying really hard not to include so many morning building pictures.  But today, the building was so creative and impressive that I had to share….

It was our turn to go and visit Loutet Farm today.  We learned all about pollinators and had the chance to taste some plants, do some weeding and plant some beans.

This is Jillian, she is one of the people who taught us all about the farm today.

We looked at snap pea plants and learned about how bees help all of our plants grow.

The other group helped weed and break up the soil and plant some bean seeds.

Here's a close up look at the snap peas that are already growing.

breaking up the soil

getting the soil ready for the seeds

we learned that you can eat all the different parts of some plants.  Did you know that broccoli tops are actually tiny little flowers that haven't bloomed yet?

planting seeds

eating chick weed….yummy!

then the groups switched and got to explore something else at the farm

after tasting the chick weed, we were asked to put our thumbs up if we liked it.  Someone liked it so much she put all her fingers up and her feet too!!!

Did you know that it's Miss C's last day with us next Thursday?!?! I don't know what we will do without her around here.

Then, on the way back from the farm, we stopped to feel the spray off of a nearby sprinkler….what a hot day!
