Spontaneous Dance Party!

Ms Forrest brought in some dinosaur books from her house to share with the kids today because she noticed that a couple of kids had a real interest in dinosaurs.  We overheard the word "awesome" quite a lot this morning!

I don't know if you know, but after lunch, during our rest and read time, Brooksbank has a music listening program.  Usually the music is something peaceful and soothing.  Today the selection was "Happy" by Pharrell Williams.  Needless to say, a dance party started in the classroom (how can you NOT dance to that song?!?!)

This afternoon, as part of Miss C's family unit, we talked about ways we can help our families.  The kids brainstormed ideas and Miss C wrote them on little sticky notes that the kids could then choose from.  Once chosen, the kids wrote their helpful ideas on their "Helping Hands".  These will later be added to a family poster.  Oh, the kids worked so hard on their printing this afternoon!

Choosing their next ideas.

We added a new centre to centre time today..the water table!  Nothing feels better than splashing around in some cold water on a day like today.  Next week, Miss C will have the kids explore capacity and volume….all this water play will turn into some pretty great learning!

One student built his own balance out of foam blocks today.

more water fun….

Only 12 kids had a turn today, the rest of the kids will get to play tomorrow.
