Today Was a Safety Day

We learned a lot about safety today.  When Karen came in for our Roots of Empathy session, she taught us all about safety.  We learned about the international symbols that are used to let people know when a container contains things that are dangerous (flammable, poisonous, etc).

Then, right after that, we had a fire drill.  The kids were AMAZING and took it very seriously.  We talked about the importance of getting out of the building quickly and safely and then meeting together in our class meeting spot on the gravel field.  The whole school was on the field in under 3 minutes!

I also took some photos of some of the awesome (I mean awesome!) hundreds projects that have started to come in…the creativity is incredible.

Then, this afternoon, one of the kids taught a lot of us (me included) how to make bracelets with little elastic bands.

Tomorrow is our 100th day of school (can you believe it?!?!)  I think we will probably not have enough time for sharing tomorrow, so we will do "p" sharing on Thursday.

On our way back inside after our fire drill

100 pieces of Lego! all in the shape if the number 100

wow, 100 cotton balls makes a very fluffy group

each page of this booklet has a different group of 10 things…and, you got it, there are 10 different pages!

100 buttons, growing in a garden

yes, there are 100 flowers, we counted them all!

we're learning a new skill today, taught by one of our classmates

as we learn, we share our new knowledge with others
