One more hundred year old Kindergartener to share with you!
a great work of collaboration…they were trying to reach 100 blocks, I think they were pretty close!
Today, we had a visit from Janet, the "bear lady". She taught us all about how to ensure that bears are not attracted to our homes. Ask your child what kinds of things we should do to make sure that bears don't come looking for food around our homes. The pictures below may help them remember.
here are some of the things that we should avoid leaving outside
here is the poster of an event coming up soon to spread bear awareness. Sounds like a fun day.
After our bear presentation, we read the story "Diary of a Wombat". We made a lot of connections to the information we just learned about bears as we read this book. This wombat becomes very accustomed to human food and starts to cause problems for the neighbours.
As you know, it was "P" sharing day this week. The kids brought in lots of items beginning with P. Today, the kids brainstormed so many more "p" words that we ran out of room on our chart….incredible!
Did you know that laying on your tummy is a great way to develop the small muscles in your hands needed for printing? It helps stabilize the forearms so that the hand does all the work.
We were working on printing "p" and drawing pictures that begin with the letter "p".
Some kids chose to work laying down at the carpet, some stayed at the tables,
This afternoon, Rhena came in for our weekly signing lesson. We watched a video about colours and learned the signs.

On Monday, Miss C will be back and will begin her 10 week practicum. As her practicum progresses, she will take over more of the teaching. I explained this to the kids today. They are so looking forward to seeing her next week!
I hope you all have a great weekend!
