Exploring the Night Sky

FYI: I will be out of the classroom tomorrow until after lunch.  The class will have a teacher on call.

Today, Miss Harstone was back with us.  She read a story called "Goodnight World".  It has beautiful aboriginal illustrations.  26 different artists collaborated to create the artwork in this book.  The class spent a lot of time looking at the artwork and talking about the details.  Then, after much discussion, the kids went back to their tables to create an image inspired by what they saw in the book.  Miss Harstone gave them each some circles and some crescents and they glued those down and then they added all the details they could think of.

(I missed taking photos of a couple of kids, they managed to sneak past me!)

After completing our masterpieces, some kids sorted all of the oil pastels back into their colours.  Very helpful!

Look at this intricate pattern, it matches the pattern he saw on his friend's shirt!
