Journals

The kids came in ready for the week this morning.  I am so impressed with how well they have adjusted to our routines.  Tomorrow, we are going to change things slightly.  We are going to add name printing to our morning jobs (we practiced today, so the kids know what to do).  So now, they will come into the room, put their names in the ladybug, put their home envelopes in their home boxes and then go to the tables to print their names.  Then, when all of that is done, they will go to the carpet to play.

Here's a little look at today's morning play ...

so much collaboration and interaction

Then, after calendar today, we drew in our journals for the first time.  We talked about adding lots of details and colours.  The kids worked so hard and did a great job.

These two worked so hard to get moving on the swing today.  Then together, they decided that they would take turns and push one another.  They were giggling, chatting and having a great old time...all while solving a problem.  Ahhhhh Kindergarten makes my heart so happy!

Thanks for getting all of your forms and comfort kits in.  I would love to have everything in by the end of the week so that I can hand it all in to the office.  The sooner we have all of that emergency information the better.

A notice came home today from the PAC (the parent advisory council) regarding Fun Lunch.  If you are interested, please place your order online before the deadline.

We are going to begin our letter of the week sharing on Wednesday.  This week's letter is A.  Please help your child find something around the house that begins with the letter A.  Household items or things from nature are the best (acorn, avocado).  Toys can be distracting and should only be brought for sharing if you can't find anything else.  Thanks for your help with this!
