Alphabet Stations

This was pretty amazing....she looked at the pictures in the "idea book" and chose this very complicated structure to build.  There wasn't one block out of place!

Today, some of us tried something new on our classroom iPad.  It's called Osmo and it's an interactive program that allows you to follow the pattern on the screen and build it on the table and then the iPad lets you know how you are doing.  A few people had a turn with this today, but many were interested.  Everybody will have a turn in the coming days.

another great structure

Here's today's special helper getting ready to take on her duties.

Today, we rotated through 5 alphabet stations.  Each group had 5 minutes at each station.  Most of them were related to letter matching today.  Here, the kids match the magnet letter to the letters on the paper (while trying to name the letters).

Here, we practiced printing capital and lowercase Aa in sand.

Here, we practiced writing lines...straight lines, zigzag lines, loopy lines and circles.

more letter matching, capitals and lowercase letters

Here, we matched letter cards (capitals) with the letters printed around the edge of the carpet.

Then we rotated and tried a new station.

This is a line pattern: straight line, zigzag, circle line, straight line, zigzag, circle line.
