Remembrance Day Assembly

Taking a picture of someone taking a picture!

Today, kids who are members of Cubs/Beavers/Scouts and Girl Guides were invited to wear their uniforms to school as part of our Remembrance Day Ceremony.  We had two kids in uniform and had a good talk about what kinds of things they do at Beavers.

After we did some number printing (#2: for number 2 go right around, then make a line across the ground) we worked on building some complicated patterns.

After recess, we all went into the gym for our Remembrance Day Assembly.  Mrs. Schwarzbach arranged to have many different student groups present a performance to the whole school.  The Choir entered the gym with candles glowing….

The choir sang several songs throughout the assembly

We learned about Sadako and her paper cranes.  We learned that these cranes are a symbol of peace.  Below is a crane mobile that Mrs. Schwarzbach's grandfather made.  Each student will bring home a paper crane today to share the peace symbol with his/her family.

One class performed a dance for us.

Another class performed a shadow play.
