We had a very busy day today, full of good learning and fun! Earlier today Miss Maria taught a lesson on responsibilities within our homes. The kids brainstormed things that they do in their families to help out and then drew and wrote about it. We've got a lot of helpful kids in this class!
Then, we had the best time trying to guess the baby! We each had a piece of paper with photos of how we look now and we did our best to write the number of the baby beside the photos, guessing who was who. Some were easier than others, but all of them were absolutely adorable.
here we are looking and guessing
Miss Maria introduced us to Vincent Van Gogh today. Some of us were able to start our version of Van Gogh's sunflowers. (Everyone will get a turn some time this week). This is a mixed media project: there is some painting, some cutting and gluing and we added texture using beans in the centre of the sunflower. They are looking stunning! Keep your eyes on the empty bulletin board in the hallway….
some of us played "Tenzie"today. It's a dice game where each player has 10 dice of the same colour. The goal is to keep rolling the dice until they are all the same number. So, if you roll all ten dice, and three of them are let's say the number 2, set those aside and keep rolling the remaining 7 dice, if any of those dice are "2", set them with the other "2" and keep playing until all ten dice say "2". It sounds complicated but it really isn't. If you have lots of dice at home, give it a try!
more masterpieces in progress
Some pretty awesome building going on this afternoon.
More tenzie fun!
Some creative artists at work.
It was such a gorgeous afternoon, I took some photos of the fun we had in the sun. Some of the kids were running around so much I didn't manage to get any photos of them, maybe next time!
These girls have been working so hard on getting up on the swings by themselves and pumping their legs all on their own. Now they are doing it and getting really high on the swings! What great goal setting and determination!
a little bit of zombie tag!
