Today, Miss Maria introduced us to the talking feather. We use this to help us listen to one another. Only the person with the talking feather can talk. If someone else wants to talk, we pass the feather.
Miss Maria shared her family photo today. There is something special about Miss Maria and her sister. See if your child can remember what makes them special sisters.
Then the first three students in our class had time to share today. (We are working our way through the class list). They told about their photos and then the rest of the class could ask one question and give one "star" (a compliment or a kind word).
Then we went into the gym and started off by playing a cooperative version of freeze tag where you have to work as a team to free the frozen people.
And then we played musical hula hoops.
We ended our gym class with a cool down stretch and we had some time to practice some of our yoga poses that we learned a couple of weeks ago.
This afternoon, we created our own house using the legend below (sorry for the sideways pictures). We used colored squares to represent the people who live in our houses. These will be added to our family posters…stay tuned….
Some egg-citing news! The classes in the open area outside our classroom are hatching chicks and the first little guy hatched during lunch time today. We all took turns going over and taking a look. The photo is red because the chicks need to stay warm under a heating lamp.
Finally, please check your child's backpack for this letter. Miss Maria is asking each family to answer 4 questions. We will be adding this information to our posters too. Please return them to school by Wednesday. Thanks!
