Muddy Garden Visit

We braved the North Vancouver "sunshine" today and visited Loutet Farm.  Today, we checked on the garlic that we planted last time we visited and we measured to see how tall the leaves were.  We also looked at and learned about all different kinds of seeds.

Talking about what we know about seeds.

We got to take a closer look at a lot of different seeds.  We had a quick look and then passed the seeds to the person beside us so that he/she could have a look too.

All different sizes, shapes and colours.

Then we split into two groups.  One group went to measure the garlic and the other stayed and learned more about seeds and then we switched so that everyone got a turn to do everything.  The pictures of the second group are at the end of this post.

Our garlic.

Miss Harstone read a book called "My Dad is a Giant".  Before reading, we made predictions about what we thought the story was going to be about.

We discovered that this book is written in two languages, English and Korean.

Miss Harstone shared a photo of her family and talked a little bit about the people in her family.

Then it was our turn!  We are each going to have a turn to share a family photo (or 2) and tell a little about our families.

Because we used two different devises to take photos at the garden, these photos ended up at the end of this post.  Here are some photos of the other group at both "stations".

What a great day!
