I took so many photos during our trip to Sutherland for the Young Actors Project. You may want to get a cup of tea and get comfy, this may take a while!
Here we are on our walk.
When we arrived we sat around the room and met Jared.
This is Jared. He made us laugh....a LOT.
For the first exercise, Jared asked us to sit in a chair in a way that we would normally never sit in a chair.
Then we learned a little "saying": acting is taking things from your imagination and making them real.
Then we stood in a circle and passed around a cloth, each person had to make the cloth into something different.
big square
a towel
a ball
an airplane
paper airplane
a dress
a floor
a picnic blanket
a glove
a sofa
a rocket ship
a beard
ear hair
then we did some warm up activities
stretching
warming up our faces
blowing big imaginary bubbles
bigger, bigger, bigger bubbles
Then we moved around the room in different ways. First we just moved around in our own space.
happy
sad
suspicious
shy
shy
shy
shy
happy
tired
tired
tired
tired
tired
old men and ladies
I can't remember what all of these are, see if you can guess....
Then we got into groups and the girls acted something out for the boys to guess and vice versa. This was building a sandcastle.
Building a snowman
Basketball
Can you guess?
Waking up from a nap
zombies
soldiers
ballerinas
zombies
Then we sat in chairs in a way that would show what kind of chair it was. This was a throne.
This was a sticky chair, but some kids heard "stinky" and it got a bit mixed up.
Spiky chair
slippery chair
dentist chair
comfy chair
then we pretended to be dogs in the pound
And finally, we played a game where one child had to close his/her eyes and another had to try to steal the keys without getting noticed.
Phew, congratulations, you made it to the end of our very busy day! Have a great weekend.
