Phew! We were busy today!

Miss Froglet came into our class today to do some yoga with us.  Today, we focused on our breathing and calming our bodies.  The plan is for her to come regularly and spend some time with us, building on the skills we learn each time.  It was a lovely, peaceful 15 minutes.

After recess. we worked on our box creations.  We had 4 big kids come and help us and they were so impressed with our creativity and ideas.  We worked for a solid hour.  The kids were engaged and chatting and problem solving.  Such a good way to spend a Friday morning!

And here are our finished projects.....

a soccer field

a giant car

a robot

a vampire frog

a lollipop

a gumboil machine

a snowman

a TV

a submarine

a sandbox

a castle

We had a chance to go to the other Kindergarten class and have a look at their creations and then they came in to look at ours.

a closer look at the soccer field

This morning, we also finished our latest art project.  I took photos of each of them so that you can have a good look.  I love them!

If you've had a look at the newsletter that was emailed home today, you will notice that we are going to be starting to focus on independence starting on Monday.  As a school, we are asking that kids be dropped off at the doors to the school in the mornings.   There will be staff members around the school, encouraging kids to come in and hang up their belongings on their own.  Please have a chat with your child about this and let him/her know that you know he/she can do it!  I know the doors to the school open at 8:35 but instruction doesn't begin until 8:50.  I may not be able to be in the classroom until 8:45.  Please try to drop your child off closer to 8:50 than 8:35.  Thanks for your help with this.

Have a great weekend!
