Terry Fox Run

Today, we extended our knowledge of patterns by adding aabbaabb to our repertoire. We are still practicing ababab and abcabcabc patterns too.  Some of the kids are trying out other patterns.

aabbcaabbcc!

abbbabbb and then she thought of a new way to name this one: 122212221222…wow!

After lunch, we had our fist school wide assembly.  Our class did a great job.  They sat and listened so politely to all of the different speakers (this was a student run assembly).  We stood to sing O Canada and we watched a short video about Terry Fox's life.

Then we warmed up our bodies in preparation for our run.

Sorry, the kids ran so fast that I missed my opportunity to get any good photos.  They did a super job!

Then we all met up at the end of the run to celebrate our successes!

Reminder, tomorrow is our school based professional development day and Monday is the North Vancouver School District's Curriculum Implementation Day.  During both of these days, students do not attend.  Staff will be working collaboratively with the new curriculum and on Monday will be getting together with the teachers in our family of schools to continue examining and planning for the new curriculum.

Have a great weekend.  See you on Tuesday.
