Multicultural Day at Brooksbank

We celebrated all things multicultural today.  We joined the rest of the students in the gym between recess and lunch.  Each class shared a dance that they have been learning in Music class with Ms. Dunkley.  The dances originated in many different countries.

One of the Grade 7 students read an article that she wrote that was published in the North Shore News last week.

to start the assembly, the whole school got up and danced

Then it was our turn to perform for everyone.

I'm trying to add some video clips (I hope they play!)….this seems to be taking forever!  I will try again on Monday if I can't get them to work….sorry!

another whole school dance …. "the Cha Cha Slide"

Then it was time to head back to our class for our Multicultural potluck lunch.  Thank you to all of you for your incredible contributions.  The kids had a wonderful feast of many new foods.  I was so impressed with the good table manners and kind words.

If I was thinking ahead, I would have taken photos at the beginning of lunch.  Here is a little look at some of the dishes towards the end of lunch.

Our lunch was such a success because of these three ladies!  They helped serve all of the dishes and make sure that all the kids had everything they needed!  Thank you so much for your help today!  We couldn't have done it without you.
