Long Time No Blog

yesterday, we worked on combining numbers to make 5. This was the first time we've done this in class independently, so we are still getting the hang of it.

How many white beans, plus how many red beans equals how many beans altogether?

We also worked in our Brooksbank Journals yesterday. We drew about our favourite Kindergarten memory. This is a journal that we will add to every year that we are here. At the end of Grade 7 we will bring it home and see how far we have come!

Today we said good bye to our beloved Miss Cecchini. This is the last day of her practicum and we are sad to see her go. We are also happy to know that there is a new teacher who is full of kindness, love and patience ready to teach more kids for many years to come. We wish her nothing but success and happiness and we look forward to hearing all about her upcoming adventures!

We gave her some of our favourite picture books to start her own collection.

We gave her a photo book full of pictures of all of the kids in the class so she will remember us forever!

And we gave her lots of hugs and kind words.

Some light table fun.

Miss Cecchini gave us all freezies (we didn't manage to make it to the park for an outside celebration because it decided to rain all day). We had an extra centre time this morning and spent time with Miss Cecchini.

Updates

Hi Parents,

today, in your child's home envelope/backpack are two important pieces of paper. One is blue and it is the permission form for our year end field trip to the water park. The other is pink and it is an invitation to our school's annual Ice Cream Social. This is an event that allows the Brooksbank Staff to express our gratitude to all of you Brooksbank Families. It is from 6-7 on Thursday, we hope you can make it!

Tomorrow is Z sharing day!

This Friday is Miss Cecchini's last day with us (gulp!). She is finishing up her practicum and will be ready to teach her own class or work as a teacher on call in September. On Friday, if the weather cooperates, we are planning on having some fun at Loutet Park between recess and lunch, we will have our snacks at the park and then play at the playground and on the field. Kids are welcome to bring balls, toys that are appropriate for playgrounds if they wish. I will bring chalk for drawing. Families are welcome to join us if you wish. If it rains, we will stay at school and have some fun.

I only have a couple of photos, it's been a busy few days....I will get back to regular blogging  soon!

Ask your child what's happening here....I will post an updated photo tomorrow. Things are changing!
