What. A. Day.

Today was our last km Club run of the year. I tried to take photos of everybody as they ran by, but some were so speedy that I may have missed them.

Look at all of the Kms we earned today!

Our final km numbers ranged all the way to 100!! Everybody did so well!

Today, we were visited by the librarians from the City Library. They told us all about the summer reading club. I didn't manage to send home the brochure with more information. Your child will be bringing it home on Monday.

We also had a visit from Hayden today. He is from the Young Actors Project and he taught us drama for a little over an hour today. This was our third session with Young Actors and we had so much fun. (The other two sessions took place on days when Mrs. McGladdery was teaching).

First we did the silly chair game, where we had to sit on a chair in a new and interesting way....

(some people did not want to volunteer for a turn)

Then we explored feelings and moved around the carpet while converting different emotions. This is happy....

sad...

proud....

shy...

mad....

really hungry...

cold...

hot....

and then we melted....

Then we played a guessing game. One group had to pretend that the floor was making them move in a different way and the other group had to guess what was on the floor....the first group was stepping in glue.

mud

they were walking across rocks in a river

they were walking on electric wires

then the other group guessed

then we pretended to be sitting on a certain type of chair. These kids were sitting on a throne.

dentist chair

slippery chair

(I can't remember what this one was....sorry)

Then we learned how to walk in slow motion.

and played sneaky statues

Hayden tried to make the statues move.

Then we pretended we were going to the grocery store and had to say what we were going to buy. But it couldn't be something that you would normally find in a grocery store. There were some really funny answers!

And finally, we pretended to be popcorn, slowly heating up until we popped!

We had our km Club ribbon ceremony this afternoon. Please check your child's backpack for their ribbons and certificates.

have a great weekend!
