Bye Bye Butterflies

My pictures are all out of order today....not sure why, but we will just go with it!

We watched the Brooksbank bands play this afternoon.

Some morning building

The butterflies fluttered away this morning. We tried really hard to give everyone a chance to hold a butterfly but they were not at all cooperative (the butterflies, that is). The wind was blowing slightly and I think their wings were tickled and they wanted to fly. We thought they were overly attracted to the flowers in the garden, so one student suggested we move somewhere where there were no flowers, so they couldn't want to fly. (What a wonderful suggestion!) So we went up to the grass field to see if that made a difference. unfortunately it didn't. Only 6 of us were able to hold a butterfly. The kids were very understanding (and also understandably disappointed). We have one butterfly that has yet to emerge from its chrysalis so we hope to have another try tomorrow. Stay tuned.....

There is one of our little friends drinking nectar on the flowers....can you see it?
