Remembrance Day Assembly

We had our Remembrance Day Assembly today (a day early because the teachers who organized it don't work on Fridays).  A big thank you to Mrs. Dolan and Mrs. Kristensen for putting together a wonderfully meaningful and moving ceremony.

We were greeted by students who are part of the guides/scouts.  Here are our two Sparks, welcoming us into the assembly.

We're just waiting for the assembly to start.

Many students spoke and sang at the assembly.

We watched a slideshow showcasing members of the Brooksbank extended family.  I got a little misty when my Grandad's picture was on the screen.

And, at the very end of the assembly, 2 members of each class placed poppies on a wreath.

I was so proud of each person in our class. Everybody was respectful, thoughtful and listened so carefully to all that was said. We had a chat about what "peace" means when we came back to the classroom and they really understand!
