We built patterns today. First we danced to a song (youtube video) called "banana, banana, meatball" and made patterns with our bodies. Then we talked about patterns and drew some patterns on the board, then we built patterns with blocks and chains. After we built patterns, each child chose his/her favourite one and he/she shared it with the class. We read the patterns and then figured out which colour would come next. Then we danced again!
Boy, oh boy did they ever work hard!
We also noticed that patterns are all around us! See if you can find any patterns around you this weekend!

Reminder: next Wednesday is Meet the Teacher night for our class (6:00 and then repeated again at 6:45).
Next Friday (September 22nd) is our first Professional Development Day. Students do not attend. Teachers will be learning and collaborating together.
