Spreading Kindness with Smiles

On Friday, we had a visit from Luci, from the North Sore Black Bear Society. She taught us so much about bears and what to do if we ever encounter one.

she showed us photos

your child brought home a book mark with more information on Friday

Here we are working on printing and drawing items that start with "F". Some kids chose to lay down to do this work. This helps develop the tiny muscles in our hands that we use for printing because we anchor our elbow down to the floor and isolate those little printing muscles.

Some kids chose to work at tables

We talked a lot about kindness last week. We watched a video that showed how small acts of kindness can be passed from one person to another, spreading smiles along the way. Then we talked about ways that we could spread kindness. The kids came up with some lovely ideas! Before we put the pictures on the wall and wrote our names on them, we played "guess the smile". It was amazing to me that the kids were able to name their classmates just by looking at their smile!
