Bikes and Measurement

Today, some of us decorated our bikes and scooters and participated in a bike parade at lunch time.

Today, we practiced our measurement skills. We chose an item from the classroom and traced it on a piece of paper. Then we used pennies to measure how long the item is.

Then we counted the pennies to find the length.

One more bike rider!

Later in the day, we worked on comparing lengths. We chose 5 items and ordered them from shortest to longest or longest to shortest. 

Please check your child's backpack or home envelope this afternoon. You will find their self-assessment sheet showing the things that they do related to the core competencies. Have a look and encourage your child to tell you more about what they drew.

Also, tomorrow is Fun Day.

School starts and ends at our regular Wednesday times. Please encourage your child to wear his/her team colours. Kids will be with their colour groups until recess learning and performing their team cheer. Then, between recess and lunch they will be rotating through stations freely. Because we will be outside almost all day, please make sure that your child is prepared for the weather.
