We worked on comparing masses today. The kids worked in groups of three to come up with something that they wanted to explore (how to make both sides of the scale equal, how many you would need to make something heavier/lighter) and then they tested to find the answer. The most difficult part for some groups was coming up with a plan that everyone could agree on (and not just dump all of the materials onto the scale). There was lots of negotiating and discussing. In the end, all groups were successful!
We took a break and stepped away from the scales to come up with a "team plan" then we went back to the scales to put our plan into action.....
A happy finding when we went outside today...the sprinklers were on. How could we resist?!?!
And we ended the day with an ice cream break! Pretty great day!
