Art and a Visitor

We did some Springtime art today. It involved tearing, cutting, gluing, drawing, more cutting and more gluing. The kids worked really hard and managed to complete the project all today! (I actually thought it would take us a couple of days!)

Keep scrolling to see the finished pieces.

We had a special visitor this afternoon. This is one of our classmates' dads and he came in to tell us all about bike a pedestrian safety, and to talk about when and how to use 9-1-1. Then he showed us his Police vehicle.

We saw the inside of the car, learned about the laptop.

We got to see the police radio.

This is a different handset, it is connected to a speaker system so that the officers can project their voices from their car.

One of the kids got to speak into the handset.

We saw the control panel for the lights and sirens.

Our classmate turned the lights on.

We saw the back of the police vehicle.

And saw some safety equipment and police equipment that is stored in the trunk.

Then we all had a turn trying on the armoured vest )it's very heavy, but I'm sure your child will tell you it's not heavy at all, haha)

We loved out visit today! Thank you for coming and sharing your time with us!

Here's a look at our finished artwork.

Oh, we also have bean seeds stuck to out window. We are hoping they will germinate. Keep an eye on them and see if there are any changes!

Please remember that Monday is a Professional Development Day (no school for students). Have a great weekend.
