Elephants and Bunnies

Today we had a visit from Fiona and Elmer the Safety Elephant.

Elmer taught us all about things we should remember to help us stay safe.
If our ball rolls out on to the road, we shouldn't chase it, we should ask an adult to help.

We learned about how to cross safely at a crosswalk.

We learned that a red light means stop.

Green means go.

And yellow means wait, because the light will soon turn red.

WE learned to look both ways and listen.

We learned what the red hand and the countdown mean.

We talked about things we can do at the park to stay safe (ask your child what he/she rememebers)

Where and how we should walk if there are no sidewalks.

A flashlight is a good thing to carry if we are walking in the dark.

We should never go between two cars for any reason, it's hard for drivers to see us because we are small.

We learned how to cross when there is no crosswalk.

Then we met Ruff the dog.

He taught us about seatbelt and car safety.

We also learned a little bit about bike safety.

Have a great weekend!
