We went to town with the glitter glue today! The kids decorated their cinnamon and applesauce ornaments today and they are super sparkly now!
Do you know the story of Gerry's Garden? It's the garden just behind Brooksbank, before you get to Loutet Farm and Loutet Park. Today, Gerry is a 95 year old man who tends this garden. He started the garden years ago when his son passed away as a way to bring some positivity into his life. He continues to garden as often as his wife will let him (haha). Well, at this time of year, the Brooksbank school community decorates a tree in the garden to show our appreciation for all that Gerry does. So, today, we made beaded candy cane ornaments to hang on "Gerry's tree". Here we are, hard at work.
After we made Gerry's ornaments, we made some slightly different ones for our classroom tree (and to be taken home soon for our trees at home). This time we made sure to create patterns with our beads.
Here we are hanging our ornaments on the tree. If you get a chance to walk by in the next few days, take a look at all of the different ornaments.
Maybe looking straight into the bright sun isn't the best photo opportunity (complete with my shadow at the bottom....oh well!)
Please see the email reminder about the Jingle Walk tomorrow.
