I thought I'd show you a picture of all the food that was collected for the Harvest House food bank. What an amazing community Brooksbank "lives" in!
Mrs. Threndyl came yesterday and taught another "Incredible Flexible You" lesson all about whole body listening.
(I thought I would share a photo of our latest art project.)
Here we are showing what it would look like if our arms weren't "listening".
Here we are with "listening" arms.
Our hands aren't "listening".
Our feet aren't "listening".
Working hard to show "whole body listening".
Today, we took our decorations and put them on "Gerry's Tree". Gerry is a 94 (or 97) year old man (I heard two different ages today) who, to work through the grief of losing his son, took a patch of brambles that grew behind the school and turned it into a garden oasis. He's out there year round tending to the garden. So we decorated a tree (all the classes at Brooksbank) to thank him for all of his work.
Then, as we were leaving, we spotted Gerry working away in the garden, so we took a photo.
In the afternoon, Mrs. Reichert invited Gerry and his wife, Molly, into her classroom to say thanks. The grade 5s performed their Christmas concert dance for them.
And we sang our Christmas concert song for them.
