Sorting and More Sorting!

These two pictures are from yesterday and I didn't manage to get them up on the blog. One is a fantastic birthday cake and the other is a burrito...and now I'm hungry!

today we expanded our pattern repertoire to include 3 colour patterns. Some people were ready to try, others were continuing to build 2 colour patterns.

In the background of this picture is a new member of our class. This is Mr. Pang. He is a teacher candidate (student teacher) from UBC and he is going to be with us this year. For now, he will be in our class every Thursday. Welcome Mr Pang!

We explored sorting today. First I sorted the kids into different groups and the kids tried to guess my rule. Can you tell why I sorted these two groups this way?

Then we moved on to 5 different sorting stations. We each decided how we were going to sort and then talked about our sorting rule with each other. Take a look.....

Today was a GREAT day in Kindergarten! The kids worked hard, played hard and were kind tone another. Please congratulate your child for his/her great work today! I was very proud of each and every one of them!
