Some information...

Just a few bits of information for you...

I heard that some of you did not receive the email from the school about pj day.  If you are not receiving school emails (not emails from me, but emails from Brooksbank), please contact the office to make sure that they have your correct address.

Halloween is on Friday.  The Kindergarten classes have decided to keep things pretty low key.  We will be doing some crafts and activities in the class on Friday and we will participate in the school parade in the afternoon.  If you would like to come and help the children change into costumes at 1:00, that would be great.  Then you can make your way to the gym to watch the parade come through and see all the costumes.

Next week is parent conference week at Brooksbank.  This is a chance for you to come in and chat with me about your child's progress to date.  There is a sign up sheet located outside the office.  Please sign up for a 15 minute spot.  Children do not attend these conferences.  If none of these times work for you, please let me know and we can arrange another meeting time.  Also, please note that dismissal is at 2:00 on Tuesday and Thursday next week to allow time for these conferences.  (Wednesday remains a 2:00 dismissal).

Miss C (a teacher candidate...formerly known as a student teacher...from UBC) is spending 2 weeks with us.  She has already established a really lovely relationship with the students and they are excited to work with her.  Please come in and chat with her if you wish.

Looking ahead....

Remember to set your clocks back this weekend!

There will be a Remembrance Day Assembly on Friday, November 7.

Schools are closed on November 10th and the Remembrance Day holiday is November 11 (no school).

Halloween

Halloween is quickly approaching.  The Kindergarten classes are going to take part in the Halloween parade in the afternoon.  Brooksbank students have been asked to bring their costumes and change into them after lunch time.  If you are available, it would be great to have some parents come and help the kids get dressed.  They will be eating lunch until 12:55 and then we will start getting ready.

Kindergarten Photos Are Here!

Hi Parents,

Your child's photos came home in his/her home envelope today.  I believe you can order on-line or you can send an order in to me at school.  Orders to the school are due by Oct. 23.  If you are not happy with the photos, there will be a chance to try again.  Oct. 22nd is retake day.  Please let me know if you would like your child to have their photo taken again.

If you have not yet given me your email address, please do so.  I send home reminders from time to time.

Also, please look at the list posted on the classroom door. There are a few unreturned forms that will need to be returned as soon as possible.

I posted a calendar on the wall outside the classroom that you can refer to for any upcoming events.

I also just wanted to take a moment and thank you all for your support and understanding during our start up this year.  The kids are now nicely settled and working well together as a group.  It's going to be a great year!

Thank you,
Ms Spofforth
